Now here is the first crime story for children by author Frauke Angel – and I created the cover art! I am literally thrilled with how vibrant the printing with Pantone colors turned out. You just want to pick up the book and start reading the story of Enna, who just moved together with her mother to a new neighborhood. Together with Vivien, Firuz and the twins Jack and Joy, Enna soon forms the gang: ‚Neue Heimat‘.
A circus in the backyard and a rat rescue unit at your front door – these are only two fun essentials of the 190 pages strong story.
Vignettes
Tulipan commissioned me to create a set of nine additional illustrations in black and white for the chapter headings. I sketched out some initial ideas, discussed them with the author, and we quickly made a decision. We chose to depict scenes such as a chocolate cake, Vivien’s puffer jacket, and, of course, the kittens, which serve as Enna’s refuge whenever Tourette syndrome starts kicking.
